Italian group to Indoor Percussion Europe
The first indoor percussion groups have signed up for the upcoming season of Indoor Percussion Europe. Eight units are already on the list, and for the first time they include an Italian participant.
Indoor Percussion Europe now has participants from four countries for the 2014 season: France, Sweden, the Netherlands and Italy. It is the first time that an Italian group will participate in the European indoor percussion competition: yMe Indoor Percussion from Carnate will participate in the International Marching Class. This ensemble has registered for both IPE and CGN.
For the first time in three years, a Dutch uni will appear at IPE. Harpe Davids from Zoetermeer will enter the European Marching Class. 2011 was the last time that the Netherlands was represented on a European level. The French group Unik Star will bring two units to the floor: Unik Star Open (International Marching Class) and Unik Star Concert (Concert Class).
IPE still expects the number of applications to increase considerably. The provisional list can be found at www.indoorpercussioneurope.org.

Again more viewers for the DCE live webcast
The live webcast of the DCE European Championships has again drawn more viewers than in the previous year. In total, the broadcast was viewed some 14,500 times, that’s 1,500 more views than in 2012.
The increase is not as spectacular as in the previous year, when the number of viewers almost doubled, but there is still a considerable increase in the number of viewers. At peak time, in evening during the Premier Class Finals as many as 1,000 people from no less than 56 countries were watching at the same time.
"We know that the actual number of viewers was even higher than the figures indicate," said DCE board member and coordinator Rob Beeren. "In various places, drum corps fans were watching together on a big screen. We had viewers from all over the world, including Japan, Malaysia, South Africa and Indonesia."
"Every year we try to improve the webcast and the team has done a great job," adds fellow coordinator Marco Janssen. "For the first time, the team has not only shot the webcast, but also the recordings for the online video platform and the DVD, which meant that they were under more pressure than in previous years. We have received many positive reactions, both from webcast viewers and users of the video platform.
This year, the webcast was once again free to watch. Whether that will remain the case next year is not yet known. The recordings of all performances during the DCE Championships 2013 are available in HD quality on the DCE Video Vault.

In addition, Ebert is also making the trip from the US to join the corps at their base in Belgium in the run up to DCE 2014.
